Senator Alexander's Visit

A large crowd gathered at the Chancery Courtroom February 20, 2007 for a meet and greet with United States Senator Lamar Alexander. County Mayor Crockett Lee introduced him and the Senator gave a informative talk followed by questions from the audience. Cecile Testerman announced plans for the Lincoln Day Dinner April 28, 2007. Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey will introduce Congressman Davis.

Jefferson County Lincoln Day Dinner

The Jefferson County Lincoln Day Dinner was a big success. Chairman Hobart Rice and his officers did an outstanding job and there was a good crowd in spite of the snowy weather. Attending from Hawkins County was Cecile Testerman, Committeewoman, representing Jefferson County, Kathy Cradic and Bridgette Baird, Field Rep for Senator Corker. Also present were members of Congressman David Davis' staff.

Claiborne County GOP Reorganizes

Members of the Claiborne County Republican Party reorganized on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at the old Claiborne County Courthouse, according to Mike Faulk who attended the meeting along with Trey Lefler, State Field Representative for the Lamar Alexander for U. S. Senate campaign.

Judi Swilling was re-elected as Party Chairperson. Serving the next two years as Vice-Chairman will be Travis Moody. Holly Cheek was re-elected as Party Secretary. Mitzi Surber will serve as Treasurer. Chairperson Swilling appointed Janice Derreberry as Parlimentarian and Rev. Bill Duncan as Party Chaplain.

Claiborne County GOP Dinner to Feature Nashville Talk-Show Host Steve Gill

Newly re-elected Claiborne County GOP Chairperson Judi Swilling has announced Nashville conservative talk-show host Steve Gill will be the guest speaker at the 2007 Claiborne County Lincoln Day Dinner.

The event is set for 7pm, Saturday, March 17, 2007, at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee. Ticket prices are $40 and may be obtained by calling Judi Swilling at (423) 626-4455.

Town Hall Meeting: Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007 Senator Lamar Alexander



United States Senator Lamar Alexander will hold a Town Hall Meeting in Rogersville, Tennessee on Tuesday, February 20, 2007, beginning at 9:30am in the Chancery Courtroom at the historic Hawkins County Courthouse.

All persons wishing to visit with Senator Alexander are invited and all citizens are urged to attend for a report from our nation's capitol.
