E-mail from Corker Campaign Staffer Emily Booker

The recent Federal Election Commission report shows that Bob Corker’s fundraising has produced $12.97 million in receipts through the latest reporting period. Eighty-four percent of this money came from Tennesseans, and contributions were received from all 95 Tennessee counties.

This is a stark contrast to Washington Congressman Harold Ford, whose embarrassingly excessive reliance on support from Hollywood and non-Tennesseans is emblematic of his tenuous association with Tennessee values and priorities. The September 25th issue of Newsweek reported that Ford was the largest recipient of Hollywood money in the U.S. House of Representatives – except for the Congressman who actually represents Hollywood, U.S. Rep. Howard Berman.

Do we really want Hollywood selecting our next U.S. Senator?
