Sam Stewart's 90th Birthday







Sam Stewart of Hancock County whose Son-in-Law is Lowell Bean, Highway Commissioner of Hawkins County celebrated his 90th birthday February 22, 2009 at the Sneedville Community Center. The event was hosted by family and friends. Senator Mike Faulk and Representative Mike Harrison attended and honored Sam with a Proclaimation recognizing his many years of service to his county and state.

Hamblen County Lincoln Day Dinner




A large group from Hawkins County attended the Hamblen County Lincoln Day Dinner Friday, February 20, 2009 in Morristown. Senator Bob Corker was the keynote speaker and was introdued by Congressman Phil Roe. Our State Senator, Mike Faulk was also in attendance.

Legislative Breakfast






















The annual Chamber of Commerce Legislative Breakfast drew a large crowd Saturday morning, February 14, 2009 at the Hawkins County Training Center. A delicious meal was catered by Klassy Catering. Congressman Roe, State Senator Mike Faulk, State Representatives Mike Harrison and Dale Ford along with Commissioner of Agriculture Ken Givens gave informative words to the crowd. The National Anthem was sung beautifully by Allison Graham. Nancy Barker and Don Cinnamon did a great job with another successful breakfast. These photos show highlights of the breakfast.

The Valentine party was huge success with at least one hundred people in attendance. Everyone was decked out in thier Valentine attire. Jim Bowman and Hale Vance provided entertainment, Joyce Simon, President of the Republican Women invited all ladies to join the club, William Phillips,III, was present and is excited about the upcoming new addition to his family and he promises to give us a full report when it gets here. Don Cinnamon was elected King and
Patsy Courtney was elected Queen. We had plenty of delicious food. Heiskell Winstead spoke for State Senator Mike Faulk and Bill Snodgrass spoke on behalf of United States Cogressman Phil Roe, Bud Testerman Gave his usual
Get out the vote speech. The next meeting will be a St. Patricks day Party
at the natural gas company in Rogersville on Monday March 16,2009

Henry and Marie Devault Celebrate Golden wedding aniversary

On SundayFebuary 1, 2009 state committeeman Henry Devault and his wife Marie of Grainger County celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Blaine Tenneessee. Chairman Cecile Testerman and secretary Kathy Cradic along with State Senator Mike Faulk were among the
attendees. Mr Devault also represents Hawkins County on the state executive committee.
