HAWKINS COUNTY LINCOLN DAY DINNER SET


The Hawkins County GOP Lincoln Day Dinner is set and we are pleased to announce that our keynote speaker will be United States Senator Bob Corker. The dinner will be March 28, 2008 at 6:30 PM at the Hawkins County National Guard Armory located at 208 Frontage Road, Rogersville, Tennessee. Tickets will be $25 per person and can be purchased from the following individuals: Chuck Holt 423-923-8125, Cecile Testerman 423-921-8040, Lois Mayes 423-923-1295, or Kathy Cradic 423-272-2711. Entertainment will be a wonderful trio from Rogersville, Brad and Jessica Price and Stephen Bowman. The dinner will be catered by Klassy Katering. There will be limited tickets to be purchased at the door due to a expected large crowd.

Strong Hawkins County Presence at Jeff County Lincoln Day

Numerous Hawkins County folk help swell the attendance numbers at the Jefferson County Lincoln Day Dinner Saturday night at Carson Newman College in Jefferson City. Katherine Jenkins was there to watch husband, Bill, introduce the keynote Speaker, Second District Congressman Jimmy Duncan.

Bill Snodgrass and Danny Roy Price were attending on behalf of Dr. Phil Roe.

Tennessee 4th Senate District candidate Mike Faulk was there with his mother, Rosella Dykes Faulk, his sister, Kathy King, her family, and two more tables full of supporters from throughout the 4th Senate District.

Heiskell Winstead, Charles Sharits, Claude & Ann Ferrell, Gerald and Melinda Eidson, and Hawkins County YR Chairman Kelli Walker & husband, Bill also attended.

Two bloggers, Rob Huddleston and David Oatney, along with their spouses attended. Their blogs,
Voluntarily Conservative
and The World According to Oatney, were there covering the event for the blogosphere.

Remarkably, the event ended in time for most to get home in time to see most of the UT v. Memphis University Basketball game.

Hawkins County Turns Out with Big Numbers to Claiborne Lincoln Day: Steve Gill Endorses Mike Faulk for State Senate





A large delegation from Hawkins County attended the Claibonre County Lincoln Day Dinner Feb. 15 at Lincoln Memorial University.

Among the Hawkins County contingent were Hawkins County party officers and spouses: Chuck & Kay Holt, Cecile & Luke Lee, Kathy Cradic, Lois Mayes, and Frankie Davis. Also, attending were Hawkins County Highway Supt. Lowell Bean and wife, Linda, Jerry & Betty Walters, Hawkins County Young Republican Chairman Kelli Walker, Dr. George Testerman of Kingsport and State Senate hopeful Mike Faulk. Other guests at the Hawkins County tables included blogger Rob Huddleston who authors Voluntarily Conservative his wife, GOP State Executive Committeewoman from Knox County, Angela Huddleston, and their newborn son, Leo.

Lois Mayes won an autographed red plaid shirt from United States Senator Lamar Alexander, who was also the keynote speaker. Alexander was introduced by Nashville radio talk show icon, Steve Gill.

Gill was the talk show host who rallied the citizens of Nashville to surround the Capitol and blow their horns in displeasure when the legislature was trying to pass a state income tax. The Steve Gill Show was broadcast live from the Lincoln Memorial campus on Saturday.

Steve Gill endorsed Mike Faulk for the State Senate telling the crowd to send his old buddy, Mike Faulk, to Nashville as its next State Senator so the Tennessee Senate will have a true conservative as the solid 17th vote in a Republican majority.

Attendees also enjoyed meeting Dave Chesney, father of renouned Country Music Star, Kenny Chesney, who will run for a seat on the Claiborne County Board of Education.

Hamblen County Lincoln Day Dinner is March 7, 2008



The Hamblen County Lincoln Day Dinner will be held on Friday, March 7th at 6:30 pm at
First Presbyterian Church, First North Street [across from the Courthouse] in Morristown. The Life Center entrance and parking is on Main Street.

COUNTY PRIMARY






We had a great Hawkins County Primary. We are proud of all of our Republican Candidates for Property Assessor. Each one conducted a good, clean campaign, and we appreciate all of their hard work. Congratulations go out to Jack Price, who was nominated as the Republican Candidate for the General Election. We appreciate our current Assessor of Property, Don Cinnamon, for the dedication and commitment he has shown to Hawkins County. We would also like to extend our sympathy to Don and his family during his recent loss.

Congressman Jimmy Duncan to Headline Jefferson County Lincoln Day Dinner


Saturday, February 23, 2008, is the date for Jefferson County's Lincoln Day Dinner according to Jefferson County GOP Chairman Hobart Rice.


Congressman Jimmy Duncan representing Knoxville will keynote the event to be held in the University Cafeteria at Carson Newman College in Jefferson City.


A Hawkins County contingent will make the trip to Carson Newman to help spread the word on our own Mike Faulk's bid for the State Senate. Details on the event and potential carpool to Jefferson City are available from 1st Vice-Chairman Cecile Testerman (423) 921-8040.
