Republican Dinner Plans
Don't forget our next Republican meeting will be August 19th at 6:00 at Price's School. Our Republican nominee for Congress, Dr. Phil Roe, is planning to attend. We are expecting a good crowd. This will be a covered dish dinner. Bring your favorite dish. Come and express your views on the November election and meet our other Republican candidates.
The GOP Headquarters is now open daily. We have a lot to offer such as yard signs for Senate Candidate, Mike Faulk, political buttons for John McCain, and a lot of other items. We need more volunteers. Please stop by.

First District Congressional seat captured by Roe
Several people from Hawkins County traveled to Johnson City election night to celebrate Dr. Phil Roe's victory in the First District Congressional race. It was clearly a nail-biter because of low voter turn-out across the First District. Also, it has been many years since an incumbent congressman has been unseated. Dr. Roe told his audience that his victory was due to the grass-roots organization in each county. We would like to thank our current congressman David Davis for his years of service to the people of the First District and wish all the best in his future endeavors.

Mike Williams turns his Campaign over to the Democrats
We passed on the newspaper reports out of Nashville in the past couple of weeks that Democrat State Senators have been transferring their state mail money to Mike Williams to get him re-elected.
Here's the latest news from the Nashville Post: Mike Williams has now hired veteran Democrat fundraisers to try and resusitate his re-election efforts.
His campaign finance report shows his campaign is on life support and only union money and money from prominent Democrat Mike McWherter leaves his campaign with any pulse at all.

Hawkins County GOP Headquarters Opens
The Hawkins County Republican Party Headquarters is now open. Thanks to the generosity of Mrs. L. B. Richardson, we now have very nice headquarters in a great location. Our new location is directly across from the Rogersville City School. You can't miss it because there are signs and banners on the building. We will start opening daily on Tuesday, August 5th. This will be a great place to pick up yard signs, bumper stickers, and purchase your Presidential Collectors Buttons. We need volunteers to man the headquarters.
Please stop by conversation and coffee.
