The Greene County Lincoln Day Dinner was Friday, February 27 at the General Morgan Inn. Keynote speaker was Robin Smith, chairman of the Tennessee Republican party. Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey announced he would be a candidate for governor. Several Hawkins Countians attended.

Union County GOP Announces Lincoln Day Dinner: June 21, 2008 7pm

Lincoln Day Dinner Superb!

The Hawkins County Lincoln Day Dinner last night was tremendous with a record crowd of nearly 400 from all over east Tennessee. Senator Bob Corker was the keynote speaker and the crowd raved about his wonderful speech and the way he mingled with the attendees.

He was introduced by our Lt. Governor, Ron Ramsey, who also introduced our own Mike Faulk by reading a letter of endorsement from Congressman Zach Wamp.

Mike Faulk made a big splash with his announcement to seek the state senate seat in the fall. Phil Roe, candidate for Congress, attended, and the crowd seemed to really respond to his campaign.

The entertainment was outstanding, and the highlight was when Senator Corker held the music for the group, which consisted of Brad and Jessica Price, Jim and Steven Bowman, and Lynn Mahan. We hope they will perform again soon.

The dinner was catered by Klassy Katering and, again they provided a delicious meal.

Lois Mayes and Carl Bailey were presented the Man and Woman of the Year award. We will provide more details later. Here are a few pictures now.

It Could Be the Biggest Night in the History of Hawkins County Politics!

The response to the announcement of Hawkins County's Lincoln Day Dinner is astounding. The buzz is simply electric. If you don't get your ticket soon, it may be too late. A sell-out crowd is likely.

Maybe the excitement is because the keynote speaker, Sen. Bob Corker, is the only new Republican elected to the 2006 freshman class in the United States Senate. GOP Fundraising Statewide for Faulk

The election of a Republican Senator in Tennessee's 4th Senate District has very important statewide implications not only for Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey and the State Senate, but also for all members of the State House and the U.S. Congress. The Senator we elect in November 2008 will hold the Redistricting pen in his hand in 2011.

Until the current Senator representing the 4th Senate District, which includes Hawkins County, abandoned the Republican party, the GOP had a majority in the State Senate and was in a position to prevent the Democrats from gerrymandering Tennessee seats in the U.S. Congress and in both chambers of the Tennessee General Assembly after the next Census. Now the Tennessee Senate is evenly split with 16 Republicans, 16 Democrats, and 1 flip-flopping Independent.

Ask yourself one simple question: "in whose hand do you trust the redistricting pen: a rock-solid conservative Republican or someone who quit the GOP team?"

Republicans by the hundreds from all over Tennessee are doing their part to see that Mike Faulk holds that Redistricting pen in the State Senate. Mike Faulk attended graduate school and law school in Memphis, worked as a Management Analyst for Shelby County governent, and was the Courtroom clerk for a Memphis Chancellor before returning to home in Hawkins County. While in Shelby County he managed the Gubernatorial Campaign for Lamar Alexander in House District 93 and was the Campaign Manager for a candidate for Congress that included Shelby County.

Former 1st District Congressional Candidate Vance Cheek, Jr. will host a fundraising picnic for Mike Faulk at his Boone Lake home in Washington County on the afternoon of April 26th. More details will follow.

Congressman Bill Jenkins lends his support to Faulk for Senate Fundraiser in Bean Station

Former Congressman Bill Jenkins is lending his name to the growing chorus of fundraising support for Mike Faulk's State Senate Campaign. The Congressman from Hawkins County adds his name to the list of GOP heavyweights who are rallying to the cause to elect Republican Mike Faulk to the State Senate.

Congressman Marsha Blackburn got the ball rolling by hosting two August fundraisers for Faulk. Then Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey, former Governor Winfield Dunn, and practically every GOP State Chairman for the last 25 years hosted a Nashville fundraiser last month. Lt. Governor Ramsey also hosted a standing room only fundraiser for Faulk in Union County earlier this month.

Tennessee Federation Republican Women Annual Convention in Kingsport November 9 - 11, 2007

Standing Room Only Event for Faulk: Union County Turns Out Big Time!

Union Countians hungry for change turned out by the dozens last night in Sharps Chapel to support the Faulk for Senate Campaign.









The standing room only event was attended by many County and City officials, GOP State Executive Committee members, GOP party officers, representatives from both of Tennessee's United States Senators, the Lt. Governor, well wishers from Hawkins, Claiborne, Union, Grainger and Knox Counties, farmers, retirees, preachers, teachers & more. Independents and Republicans alike were there to cheer on Faulk.





Honored at the event was "Amazing" Grace Moore who was celebrating her 99th birthday. She was treated with a huge birthday cake, birthday cards, an enthusiastic singing of "Happy Birthday" led by Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey, and her own copy of Mike Faulk's coffee table book of his original photography: "High Places and Still Waters".

Faulk unveiled to the overflow crowd his symbolic "Keys to a Better Tennessee" key chain that includes a whistle, a compass and a light. Said Faulk:

"The whistle is to remind me that if I don’t remember my roots, if I don’t remember who sent me, if I can't find my way home from Nashville, you should blow the whistle on me.

The compass is there to remind me to keep my bearings straight. To me that means a lean, limited government with low taxes that does well the essential things we can’t do for ourselves and doesn’t try to be all things to all people.

The light is meant to remind you that sometimes it takes new leadership to light the way to a better future.

These are the keys to a better Tennessee. These are my keys to the State Senate."

The fundraiser, sponsored by the Republican Party of Union County, was held in the beautiful Sunset Bay Clubhouse on Norris Lake. "I'm no stranger to Union County," Mike Faulk noted, "my father started me deer hunting forty years ago at Central Peninsula - what's now called Chuck Swan Wildlife Management Area not five miles from where are are right now. And I'll promise you one thing: I'll not be a stranger to Union County after you send me to Nashville."

Faulk Gains Early Endorsements!

Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey, U. S. Congressman Zack Wamp, and Conservative Talk-Show Icon Steve Gill all told those attending the Claiborne County Lincoln Day Dinner last week in Harrogate at Lincoln Memorial University that Mike Faulk, former First Vice-Chairman of the Hawkins County Republican Party, will be, with their help, the next State Senator from the 4th District.

Faulk, who has made no formal announcement, continues to lay the groundwork for a bid for the Tennessee Senate to return the seat to the Republican Party.

Faulk told those attending the Bi-Annual GOP Reorganization meeting that he had urged our current State Senator to vote for and elect a Republican Lieutenant Governor by e-mail and leaving a message at his office just prior to the January 8, 2007 historic vote. "I have no idea whether he got the message and, if he did, whether it made a difference."

Faulk's message included an additional incentive: "I said he wouldn't have me to worry about as a primary opponent if he voted for and elected a Republican Lt. Governor." After the Senate elected a new Lt. Governor, Faulk continued to make the rounds visiting all over the Fourth District just in case the incumbent Senator chose not to seek re-election.

"Now that he is no longer a Republican, I can quicken the pace of laying the groundwork for a Senate bid. Since he thinks the our party left him, I feel free to begin preparations in earnest for the August 2008 GOP Primary," Faulk said.
